The K.I.M. PLAN
(Keep It Merry)
(Keep It Merry)
Whew! What a week to get those holiday ideas flowing. One friend called me "insane" to be thinking about holidays right now, but I promised her she would thank me by December 31st. Well, at least I hope she will! So, tell me about your vision and card choice.
My vision is to have a simple and fun holiday. Although both of our families live out of state, we decided years ago that we would not travel. We are a bit flexible with Thanksgiving, but Christmas will always be in Texas. Actually, we are hosting Thanksgiving this year. I'm excited and nervous about hosting.
So, on to Week 2 of the K.I.M. Holiday Plan. This week, I typically focus on fall and Halloween activities. I've never been a big fan of Halloween, but the kids really enjoy dressing up and I secretly enjoy indulging in their trick-or-treat loot. We ordered costumes weeks ago, but now I'm focused on planning a visit to a different pumpkin patch and enjoying fall recipes that include pumpkin and spices.
Talk to me, let me know how your plans are going...

My vision of a simple and fun holiday
- Bake a cookie a week beginning November
- Take my daughter to a holiday tea and local Nutcracker
- The Gaylord Texan Resort ICE! Show (we may even spend the night there)
- Still deciding on a family project geared to help children
My holiday card idea
I've done photo cards the last few years and have chosen to stick with that choice. Our families/friends like knowing they will get a photo at least once a year. We recently had family photos taken by a photographer and I'm hoping to use those for our cards. I'm still working on a card theme, though. Any suggestions?

Wow Kim, you are on top of it! We do photo cards too and I design them in PSE. Pictures are taken and I'll likely do a few pictures on a 5x7 Costco card (Costco sells 50 for $14.99 + envelopes!).
ReplyDeleteSimple and fun! I hosted Thanksgiving last year and if we don't go skiing, I'll host again. I like hosting because my family always leaves the house cleaner than it was when they came ;)
Thanks Valerie! Hmmm....may have to try Costco! I like that price! I have PSE, but never designed anything with it. Perhaps this this the year since I can't find anything pre-made with the theme I'm going for!
ReplyDeleteNow that's my kinda family...LOL!
